Description

Chief Operating Officer

Community Health Partnerships (CHP)

Competitive Salary

National with offices in London, Manchester and Birmingham

Community Health Partnerships (CHP) is at the heart of transforming the primary and community health estate across England. As we enter a defining period for the future of the LIFT portfolio, our role as a critical enabler of neighbourhood-based, integrated care has never been more important. We are seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to join our Executive Team and help lead CHP through the next phase of organisational transformation and strategic delivery.

CHP is a DHSC-owned NHS company with a clear purpose: to shape the care environment for locally based services and to support the NHS to deliver high-quality, sustainable, place-based care. Our modern, fit-for-purpose buildings are designated as core assets for local care delivery, supporting Integrated Care Systems as they redesign services around population need. As we implement our transformation programme and lead the national Securing the Future programme for LIFT assets, this role will be instrumental in driving forward our vision, capability and organisational culture. CHP manages over 300 LIFT properties across England, representing one of the largest and most significant community healthcare estates in the country. These buildings support more than 1,300 health and care providers and form a vital part of the NHS infrastructure that enables care closer to home.

We are now seeking an individual with a strong track record of operational leadership in a complex public, private or regulated environment to join us as Chief Operating Officer. You will bring substantial Board-level experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate confidently across organisational boundaries, building trusted relationships with government, the NHS, private sector partners and investors. Equally comfortable shaping long-term strategy and driving operational delivery, you will have experience leading large-scale programmes, managing complex contractual arrangements and delivering high-quality customer-focused services through periods of significant change. Most importantly, you will be a collaborative and inclusive leader, known for creating high-performing teams, fostering accountability and maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellence.

As Chief Operating Officer, you will hold responsibility for CHP's core operational functions and play a pivotal role in one of the most significant transitions in the organisation's history. As the NHS LIFT programme approaches the end of its current contractual arrangements, you will lead the strategic and compliant transfer of a nationally important property portfolio into future NHS infrastructure arrangements. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board and executive colleagues, you will oversee property operations, customer experience, performance and compliance while ensuring CHP continues to provide value for money and outstanding support to its partners. You will also act as one of the organisation's key ambassadors, strengthening relationships across the NHS, DHSC, Integrated Care Systems and private sector partners, whilst helping to shape the future of community healthcare infrastructure for the benefit of patients and local communities.

This is an exceptional opportunity to influence the future of neighbourhood health infrastructure on a national scale. The successful candidate will join an organisation with a unique position at the intersection of health, infrastructure, public service and partnership working, helping to ensure that some of England's most important community healthcare assets continue to support the delivery of integrated, sustainable and patient-centred care for decades to come.

If you’re energised by meaningful impact and committed to driving organisational excellence in support of better community‑based care, this is a rare and compelling leadership opportunity.
